If you are interested in further developing your data management support services, this overview might help you further.
It is based on looking at 100 academic libraries worldwide, i.e. on a Proud2Know benchmarking study maintained every 6 months.
Special thanks also go out to Sarah Jones and Joy Davidson from the Digital Curation Centre (DCC) in the UK, who reviewed the document.
Take me to the pdf overview of library research data services worldwide.
Thank you Vanessa. I have to look at this better tomorrow but it looks like a very good summary.
What I am trying to find here in the Netherlands are data management plans that have already been made by researchers who are willing to make these public so that colleague researchers can use them as examples and don’t have to reinvent the wheel. I know that the dcc has a few examples on their site but I need different ones – specifically for the medical sciences.
Do you have any suggestions? I have made posts on various blogs/ fora but have have had no reactions to date.
Kind regards,

Dear Jitka,
One good starting point could be the London School of Hygiene and Tropical and Medicine: http://www.lshtm.ac.uk/research/researchdataman/ They are doing lots of RDM.
Best wishes, Vanessa
I’d have thought “User Needs” might go under Marketing — after all, marketing incorporates market research. The separation makes me wonder if these services have a good handle on their market relationships.
HI Dave, Indeed, user needs can come under Marketing as you say.
However, they’ve been placed separately as they are so critical and come above most else.
Best wishes, Vanessa
